With the legendary ancient Khmer city of Angkor as its chief draw card and a gradually improving local infrastructure, Siem Reap’s viability as a visitor destination has increased significantly over the last decade.
Attracting both backpacker and quality tourist, entry to Angkor comes at a fairly hefty ticket price however the wonders within are themselves priceless and visitors would be crazy to deny themselves the opportunity of seeing them. After a long day of sightseeing, visitors can enjoy a few ice cold bottles of Angkor beer at one of the local bars or enjoy Khmer, Indian or Western food at any of the many busy eateries. Budget accommodation is still fairly easy to come by but will inevitably be squeezed out by the quality hotels of which there are a significant number already.
