Emerging from the shaodow of the former Soviet Union, Eastern Europe is known for its resplendent art and architecture that is evident in the region’s various tourist attractions. Russia is the main tourist hub in East Europe with tourists flocking to see the Kremlin in Moscow, St. Petersburg Palace Square, Mamaev Kurgan memorial site and the Lapland Biosphere Reserve. Poland is known for its historical sites such as the Auschwitz Concentration Camp, and architecture of Warsaw. Estonia’s Art Museum, Latvia’s holiest pilgrimage site Agnola Basilica and Ukraine’s Caves Monastery are some other attractions. Lithuania’s Curonian Spit is known for its sand dunes, pine forests and wildlife while Moldova’s Cricova region is famous for its vineyards. Cruising along the Danube River is another attraction of Eastern Europe.
