Netherlands Travel Guide

Information and maps

" VVV " tourist offices are usually conveniently sited in the town centre or by the train station. They have plenty of information in English on the local area and the whole country, including maps and accommodation lists (usually for a small fee); they will also book rooms, again for a small charge. Most have tel 0900 premium-rate phone numbers, charged at €0.23-0.91/min from within the country, and normal international rates from outside. The best general map is Kümmerley and Frey's; the Dutch motoring organization ANWB publishes an excellent detailed 1:100,000 series that covers the whole country.
