North Africa
Northern Africa is conditioned by its harsh desert environment. The Sahara Desert stretches across Northern Africa and is home to cultures such as the desert-dwelling Tuaregs. It boasts sparkling beaches in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya and also great coral reefs where one can even go for snorkeling and scuba diving in the Red Sea. Ancient heritage comes alive through Egypt’s Great pyramids and the Roman ruins of Leptis Magna in Libya and Volubilis in Morocco. The spectacular Hasan II Mosque in Morocco is the world’s third largest religious monument. For a sense of adventure, tourists can also go for desert treks in the Sahara.
