East Africa

Eastern Africa is known for its wild scenic beauty. Home to the big five, Kenya’s Amboseli National Park, and Masai Mara National Park along with Somalia’s Kismayu National Park and the Gorongosa National Park of Mozambique are world famous. The island nations of Mauritius and Seychelles are known for their amazing palm fringed golden beaches where tourists can have a great time scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing, water-skiing, swimming, sunbathing and surfing. The Rift Valley Lakes of Ethiopia and Kenya, Hammawein ruins of Somalia, Mount Kilimanjaro of Tanzania and the Sipi Falls of Uganda are also very popular with tourists.

East Africa is known as the cradle of mankind as some of the earliest fossil human remains have been found here. Some of the countries in Eastern Africa have been ravaged by infighting and violence for several years with civil wars in Ethiopia, Somali and Uganda. The border dispute between Ethiopia and Eritrea remains unresolved. The wildlife attractions of other East African nations are a fascinating sight.
